Our Story

From Vision to
National Impact

Towerkids was born from a deeply personal conviction: that every child in Kenya — regardless of disability, background or circumstance — deserves access to world-class rehabilitation and genuinely inclusive education under one roof.

Founded by Mr. Peter Kamau Mucheru, a seasoned Speech-Language Pathologist and Special Needs Educator, Towerkids began with Kids Speak Therapy Clinic in 2019 and expanded to incorporate Tower Valley School — creating East Africa's most integrated model of its kind.

Today, Towerkids serves 500+ children annually across Nairobi and Nakuru, with expansion to Thika and beyond planned through a bold five-phase national strategy.

Our Purpose

Vision & Mission

The north star and the engine that drives everything we do at Towerkids.

Our Vision

“A Kenya where every child with special needs or a disability has equal access to quality education and rehabilitation services — empowered to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.”
Long-term Aspiration

Our Mission

To provide integrated, evidence-based paediatric rehabilitation and inclusive education services that empower children with diverse needs to achieve their full potential — through specialised therapy, family-centred care, and advocacy for equitable access across Kenya.

Daily Commitment
The TEE Framework

Our Core Values

Three interdependent values that define how we show up for every child, every family, every day.

G

Grow Together

Development is a shared journey. We grow alongside the families we serve, cultivating a spirit of collective problem-solving, peer mentorship and collaborative learning. No child — and no family — walks this road alone.

Community & Collaboration
E

Advance Equity

We actively dismantle structural barriers that prevent children from accessing quality rehabilitation and education. Equity is not a passive aspiration — it is a daily commitment to ensuring every child has a fair opportunity to thrive.

Access & Justice
How We Work

Foundational Principles

The operating beliefs that shape every interaction, every assessment, every care plan we deliver.

Evidence-Based Practice

Every intervention is grounded in current research. We assess, diagnose, plan and measure outcomes rigorously — never guessing.

Family-Centred Care

Families are our partners. We co-create every care plan and equip caregivers because progress happens in the 167 hours outside our sessions.

Child-Centred Philosophy

Children are not passive recipients of care. We honour their agency and design every experience around their unique strengths, interests and needs.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Our SLPs, OTs, teachers, counsellors and audiologists work as a unified team, sharing insights to deliver holistic, coordinated care.

Cultural Responsiveness

We honour Kenya's diverse cultural contexts — providing materials in local languages and adapting our approaches to community realities.

Continuous Improvement

We measure outcomes, collect data, and evolve our practice. Regular supervision and peer review keep our standards rising year on year.
